2023 Tryout/Evaluation Results
The Arvada Hockey Association (AHA) tryouts are designed to ensure that each player is placed on a team that will give him/her the greatest opportunity to compete at the appropriate level of play and to best develop their hockey skills. We hope players and parents understand that it is our goal to ensure that it is fair and objective, so each player is given an opportunity to exhibit their hockey skills. It is important for parents and players to understand that the higher-level teams are not always the best fit for a player. AHA will continue to work hard to make sure that every player is set up for success and is able to have fun competing in the great sport of hockey.
The tryout procedure is a filter down process. Starting from the highest-level teams (generally AA at 14AA, 12AA, 10AA and CPHL Midget), players are selected to teams and those that are not chosen, filter down to the next level tryout selection process. This continues until all teams are filled from Travel AA to A to B to Rec/Option (to In-house for 12U and 10U). Players do not need to re-register for the next set of tryouts, they will be automatically placed on the tryout list for the tryout sessions.
